2nd Club Meeting RY 13/14 & Induction of Rtr May

28 07 2013

Our second meeting of this term was held on the 28th July 2013. Being the meeting that is being held right after the 45th Installation Banquet, no eloquent activity was held in this meeting.
It still turned out to be a very meaningful meeting as President Murtaza Shafie Inducted our new member Rtr May . We would like to congratulate and warmly welcome her into our RACKL Family!  Besides the induction  our 2nd meeting was a very engaging one, where plans for many amazing activities were made.
Also present at our meeting our visiting Rotaractor PP Enrico from The Rotaract Club of Yale Collage. He shared with us the experience and journey they have endured to successfully carry out a project that had earned them The Rotaract Outstanding Project Awards in RY 12/13. We were truly inspired!

RACKL’S 6th Club Meeting

13 10 2012

RACKL  had its 6th Club Meeting on 13th of October! We brought back the International Service’s Discovering Series. This time it was  Discovering Latin series, where we had the privilege of having  a dance instructor from Salsa Jay, Ms Pip. Attended by members and guest we certainly had a lovely time learning salsa. As the grand conclusion of that meeting we had our guest Ms Dima Sahli and Mr Mohammed Alkodmani performed a piece for us. Towards the end of the Salsa workshop we had more enthusiastic guest and members who were keen in learning Salsa. 391746_10151195963118827_1603742584_n 44198_10151195962203827_735969730_n 548593_10151195972773827_1506198398_n 560504_10151195970453827_574845759_n 223203_10151195975098827_705328500_n

“There are 870 million undernourished people in the world today. That means one in eight people do not get enough food to be healthy and lead an active life. Hunger and malnutrition are in fact the number one risk to the health worldwide — greater than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined.Among the key causes of hunger are natural disasters, conflict, poverty, poor agricultural infrastructure and over-exploitation of the environment” United Nations World Food Programme”

STOP HUNGER NOW- a project by Rotary Club of Melawati. It was truly a great experience to see so many volunteers of all ages coming together for a noble cause.Though what we did was nothing much compared to many more that is being done around the World in order to stop hunger, we were glad that we spent a little time to be part of the team of volunteers who managed to pack a total of 30,942 meals yesterday.

Thank you Rotary Club of Melawati for initiating such a noble project!553492_10151195839638827_580972688_n 400840_10151195843208827_68738235_n 249508_10151195844178827_638527651_n

3rd ENGLISH LANGUAGE CARNIVAL & MEDICAL CAMP

16 05 2012

This project that was held for the 3rd consecutive year left us all with a great feeling of joy and satisfaction. Most often the rural schools are kept away from the emphasis and importance of language such as English. The purpose of this carnival was to ignite the interest of the young students to learn English. Various games and activities were conducted that day. We from RACKL are grateful to IPP Rtn Andy, Rtn Ajmal Khan and Rtn Hardeep Singh from Rotary Club OF Kuala Lumpur Diraja for allowing us to be part of this project. We assisted in the purchasing of gifts for the children and also b facilitated the various language activity held. Members and Guests of RACKL returned home with a promise that we will be visiting that school again! Perhaps carry this kind of carnival in many other schools…
