This project that was held for the 3rd consecutive year left us all with a great feeling of joy and satisfaction. Most often the rural schools are kept away from the emphasis and importance of language such as English. The purpose of this carnival was to ignite the interest of the young students to learn English. Various games and activities were conducted that day. We from RACKL are grateful to IPP Rtn Andy, Rtn Ajmal Khan and Rtn Hardeep Singh from Rotary Club OF Kuala Lumpur Diraja for allowing us to be part of this project. We assisted in the purchasing of gifts for the children and also b facilitated the various language activity held. Members and Guests of RACKL returned home with a promise that we will be visiting that school again! Perhaps carry this kind of carnival in many other schools…

Asia Pacific Social Media Campaign.

13 05 2012

Social media definitely is the best way to reach out to people. This campaign was initiated by the Rotaract in Australia. The aim of this campaign was to prompt questions from our friends and wider networks about what we do, create awareness about Rotaract and get to people thinking about how THEY can help the community. This campaign was held from 13th May 2012 up to 19th May 2012. Participants of this campaign changed their profile picture and cover picture provided. Constantly their status updates were changed with quotes reflectict their experience with Rotaract such as:

“There are friendships imprinted in our hearts that will never be diminished by time and distance.” – Dodinsky. Rotaract has enabled me to make friends all over the world.

It was certainly a great start to the many such projects that will be organized like this. A total of 321 Rotaractors from all around the world took part in this campaign.Image
