Guest Day & 38th Club Anniversary

5 10 2007

When? 28 September 2007, Where? Shangri-la KL & Izzi Bukit Bintang.

It has been some time since the club decided to hold a guest day or as it is roughly translated to mean “introducing what rotaract is all about to our guests”.

Rtn Leslie from District 3310, Singapore was our speaker of the day. Having had a lot of experience┬ádealing with rotaractors, he not only spoke about the relationship of rotary-rotaract but also what rotaract can provide – including the chance to extend our service to an international community. Rtn Leslie also shared some of the international-community service projects conducted by rotaractors in his district such as rebuilding villages in Thailand destroyed by the tsunami.

The best ambassadors of RACKL are of course our own members. It was quite touching to listen as members and some guests (including some of our surprise guests – the alumni) shared with everyone their passion and experience in Rotaract and RACKL.The club officially presented Steven & Irene a plaque of appreciation for all their efforts and contributions.

After a quick meeting, we adjourned to Izzi to celebrate our 38th Club Anniversary. Wow, 38 years and still going strong… here’s to another 38 more down the road!
